A WOMAN is in a serious condition at Royal Darwin Hospital after allegedly being strangled by her partner.
A 40-year-old man has been charged by the NT Police Domestic and Family Violence Section and has been remanded in custody.
Police allege the serious assault of the 32-year-old woman occurred at a home in Palmerston.

The man was charged with recklessly endangering life, aggravated assault, strangling in a domestic relationship and failure to rescue.
Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Warren Scott said people were obligated to report domestic violence.
“Northern Territory Police will continue to seek out and prosecute domestic violence offenders in a zero tolerance approach,” he said.

He said people affected by domestic violence can report it to police on 131 444 or to call triple-0 in an emergency.
Victims may also seek help by calling 1800 RESPECT, a national counselling and support service for sexual and domestic violence.
