A WOMAN charged with kicking a security guard in the face and breaking his eye socket last year is now behind bars on remand for another string of alleged violent offences, including against a police officer.

Storm Jazmin Dippel, 20, was charged in July with causing serious harm to security guard Jake Duncan and was released on police bail.

However, Dippel was arrested again on December 21 for a range of alleged offences including aggravated assault, assaulting a member of the police force and resisting police in the execution of their duty.

She also stands charged with breaching bail and breaching a domestic violence order.

Dippel appeared in the Darwin Local Court yesterday where her lawyer, Mark Thomas, unsuccessfully applied for bail on her behalf.

Police allege Mr Duncan was in the middle of breaking up a fight between two men on Smith Street in the early hours of July 5 last year when the alleged assault took place.

Dippel then allegedly kicked him in the head, fracturing his left eye socket.

A shocking image of Mr Duncan’s bloodied and swollen face sparked outrage on social media, with many rallying to support him and his employer Territory Protective Services (TPS).

TPS has been contracted to patrol the Darwin CBD at night to combat anti-social behaviour as part of a new $850,000 six-month ‘City Safe’ trial being jointly funded by the NT government and Darwin Council.

A video of the alleged incident, posted to Facebook shows Mr Duncan bent over on the ground restraining someone when a young woman runs in from the side, delivering a sickening kick to his head.

Mr Duncan told the NT News he was lucky his injuries were not more serious.

“I honestly feel lucky because a blow to the head like that — it’s something that could easily kill someone or give them brain damage,” he said.

Dippel was remanded in custody and will return to court on February 17.
