Mr Duncan told the NT News he was in the middle of breaking up a fight between two men on Smith St when Dippel allegedly kicked him in the head, fracturing his left eye socket.
Dippel did not enter a plea during the brief hearing on Monday in which judge Alan Woodcock adjourned the proceedings for a committal mention on September 2.
Mr Woodcock extended Dippel’s bail and she will be excused from appearing if represented.
