Ruth Palmer woke up this morning to find a huge foot print on the front door of her two-storey Durack home, saying she believes the attempted break-in happened during a storm in the early hours of this morning.

She said four screen doors have been destroyed, with the bolts on her doors being the only thing stopping the intruders from coming inside her family home.

“The worst thing is there was two little girls aged 12 and seven sleeping upstairs, it is quite frightening,” she said.

“They’ve gone around back and broken the fly screens there then come around the front and tried to kick the front door open and broken the inside of the door.

Ms Palmer said her family is now rushing to fix all the broken doors and install extra security cameras.

She said the attempted break in was “very very odd” as they had never experienced anything of that nature in that place.
