Two men charged over the stabbing death of a man in Karama on Thursday have faced court for the first time.

TWO men charged over the stabbing death of a man in Karama on Thursday have faced court for the first time.

Matthew and Peter Gardiner, aged 26 and 20 respectively, were each led into the dock of the Darwin Local Court on Friday morning where both men stand charged with the other man’s murder.

Matthew Gardiner also faces a separate charge of attempted murder over the allegedly related stabbing of a woman a short time later.

The woman remains in a serious but stable condition in the Royal Darwin Hospital.

Neither of the accused men applied for bail and both were remanded in custody until July 21.
