EARLIER: A MAN has taken a swipe at another man with a weapon as a fight stopped traffic in one of Darwin’s busiest streets on Friday afternoon.
The fight was caught on camera by Nigel Sharp, who said he heard the commotion from his office window and filmed the situation about 4.30pm on Friday.
Mr Sharp said there were multiple people on the phone to police.
Public servants, who finish their shifts at 4.21pm, had only just been leaving their workplaces as the fight happened on Mitchell St.

Mr Sharp said it was one of a swag of fights to have taken place on Mitchell St near the bus stop in the last week.
“To be honest we are just used to it, like I said it’s just become the norm,” he said.
“I’ve just become accustomed to it really, I’m certainly not getting involved, I’ll ring the police and film it for the police but that’s all.”
The video shows one man pulling out an object from his clothing and swinging it at another man as they run around a car.
The man being chased then runs into the Hotel Darwin.
Mr Sharp said police quickly arrived and broke up the tussle.
“The guy has got an ice pack on his head and looks like he’s getting arrested,” Mr Sharp said.
