Drink driving: A guide to safe drinking

WE’VE been keeping track of the daily court lists.

Here are some of the drink drivers who had their cases finalised in the courts recently:

COLE STANLEY HUGHES

Charged with:

Drive Vehicle In A Manner Dangerous

Drive Low Range Blood Alcohol Content

Drive A Motor Vehicle While Unlicensed

Driver With Prohibited Drug In Body

They were given a $750 fine plus a $600 levy. They were disqualified from driving for six months.

PHILLIP LESLIE DIVES

Charged with:

Drive Medium Range Blood Alcohol Content

They were fined $500 and given a $150 levy and disqualified from driving for six months.

HELEN JOYCE HORRELL

Charged with:

Drive While Using Hand-Held Mobile Phone

Drive A Motor Vehicle While Unlicensed

Drive Medium Range Blood Alcohol Content

Driver With Prohibited Drug In Body

Poss Schd 1 Less Traf Qty

They were Convicted without penalty of driving while using a hand-held mobile phone and put on a 12-month Good Behaviour Bond for counts 2-5 which were:

Drive a motor vehicle while unlicensed

Drive Medium Range Blood Alcohol Content

Driver with Prohibited Drug in Body

Poss schedule 1 drug less than trafficable quantity

She also was given a $150 levy for each of those offences.

She was disqualified from driving for two years.

DENI MITEV

Charged with:

Drive Low Range Blood Alcohol Content

They were fined $250 and disqualified from driving for six months.

JACK LIAM GARDNER

Charged with:

Drive Low Range Blood Alcohol Content

They were fined $300 and given a $150 levy

FRANCIS RANKIN GARWUN

Charged with:

Drive Motor Vehicle Unsafe To Drive

Drive Medium Range Blood Alcohol Content

Drive Unregistered Motor Vehicle

Drive Uninsured Motor Vehicle

Drive A Motor Vehicle While Unlicensed

They were handed a $2500 fine plus a $750 levy. They were disqualified from driving for six months.

LYNDELL ROSE JAWUMINY PLUMMER

Charged with:

Drive Without Due Care

Drive Medium Range Blood Alcohol Content

They pleaded guilty to both counts.

They were fined $500 plus $150 levy plus $81 in costs for the Drive Without Due Care charge.

They were fined $300 plus $150 levy plus $81 in costs for the Drive Medium Range Blood Alcohol Content.

They were disqualified from driving for 12 months and once they get their licence back for 12 months they must have a blood alcohol ignition lock fitted.

WAYNE ROBERT DAVIS

Charged with:

Drive Medium Range Blood Alcohol Content

He received a $300 fine plus a $150 levy. He was disqualified from driving for six months.

JACK MITCHELL FABBIAN

Charged with:

Exceed Speed Limit

16-30km/H Over Limit

Drive Medium Range Blood Alcohol Content

They were given a $600 fine plus a $300 levy. They were disqualified from driving for six months.

LATOYA SERIFA JOHNSON

Charged with:

Drive Medium Range Blood Alcohol Content

They were disqualified from driving for six months and made to pay a $150 levy.

BRAYTON CRAWFORD

Charged with:

Drive Without Due Care

Not Stop After Crash

Drive Medium Range Blood Alcohol Content

Drive Unregistered Motor Vehicle

Drive Uninsured Motor Vehicle

Drive A Motor Vehicle While Unlicensed

For counts one and two (Drive without due care and Not stop after Crash) they were given a $500 fine plus a $300 levy.

For count three (Drive Medium Range Blood Alcohol Content) they were given a $400 fine plus a $150 levy.

For counts four, five and six (Drive Unregistered Motor Vehicle, Drive uninsured motor vehicle, and Drive a motor vehicle while unlicensed) he was given a $900 fine plus a $450 levy.

He was disqualified from driving for six months.

HARRY FREDERICK KEAL

Charged with:

Drive Medium Range Blood Alcohol Content

Drive Without Due Care

He pleaded guilty to both but no conviction recorded.

For Count 1 (Drive Medium Range Blood Alcohol Content) he got a $400 fine plus a $150 levy

For Count 2 (Drive without due care) he got a $200 fine plus a $150 levy

He was disqualified from driving for six months.

RUSSELL DEMPSEY

Charged with:

Drive Without Due Care

Drive High Range Blood Alcohol Content

Drive A Motor Vehicle While Unlicensed

They pleaded guilty to all three counts.

For Count 1 (Drive without due care) they got a $150 fine. They were given a three-month suspended sentence.

For Count 2 (Drive High Range Blood Alcohol Content) they got a $150 fine.

For Count 3 (Drive a motor vehicle while unlicensed) they got a $150 fine.

They were disqualified from driving for 18 months.

They were put on a 12-month Good Behaviour Bond.

When they get their licence back they will have to have an Alcohol Content Ignition lock fitted for 12 months.

WALLY DJORLOM

Charged with:

Drive Without Due Care

Drive Medium Range Blood Alcohol Content

Engage In Conduct That Contravenes DVO

He was disqualified from driving for six months and received the following punishments for each count:

Drive Without Due Care - $1000 fine plus $83 in costs

Drive Medium Range Blood Alcohol Content - $300 fine plus $83 in costs

Engage In Conduct That Contravenes DVO - Two days in jail

LIONEL GODWIN

Charged with:

Drive Medium Range Blood Alcohol Content

Driver With Prohibited Drug In Body

He received a $500 fine plus a $300 levy. He was disqualified from driving for six months.
