ONE man has been charged after Northern Territory police seized a trafficable amount of cannabis on the Tiwi Islands.
Police had been investigating reports of illegal drinking at a residence on August 25 while conducting a cursory search under the Liquor Act.
There they discovered what appeared to be drug paraphernalia prompting them to obtain a warrant to continue the search.

Police allegedly located 437 individual foil deal portions, one large clip seal bag containing cannabis (approximately 26 grams) and cash of various denominations.
A 28-year-old man was subsequently issued a Notice to Appear for possessing cannabis of a trafficable quantity and supplying cannabis in an Aboriginal community.
Two other people at the property were issued liquor infringement notices.
