A MAN allegedly at the centre of a six-hour siege in the Darwin CBD has appeared in court.
Shem Reece Rotumah, 30, appeared in Darwin Local Court yesterday where he stands charged with 18 offences, including deprivation of liberty, making threats to kill, assaulting police and seven counts of aggravated assault in relation to the siege in late October.
The siege involved Rotumah allegedly climbing across balconies at the Luma Luma apartments before sitting in a brick alcove above a garage and throwing glass bottles at police officers and others in the vicinity during the midday incident.

He was eventually arrested by TRG officers.
An NT Police, Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said police were called out to a domestic violence incident on the day of the siege and there was someone known to the alleged offender inside the apartment building.
Rotumah’s matter was adjourned to later this month when he will return to the Local Court for a preliminary examination mention.
