THE vast majority of documents Zachary Rolfe’s lawyers argued were “buried” will remain so following a decision by an NT Supreme Court Justice.

It comes after Rolfe’s defence lawyer David Edwardson QC appeared in court on his client’s behalf earlier this month, arguing for the reports – which were handed over heavily redacted because of “legal professional privilege” following a subpoena – to be released in full to the defence.

The files were draft coronial reports, compiled by Superintendent Scott Pollock, which Mr Edwardson said were at odds with evidence expected to be given at trial by some of the prosecution’s expert witnesses.

NT Supreme Court Acting Justice Mildren on Friday decided all but five of the documents would remain redacted.

Rolfe’s defence lawyer Luke Officer also sought permission for Rolfe, who is on bail in Canberra, to travel to Adelaide to assist with preparations for the trail.

Justice Mildren accepted the request, with Rolfe to travel to Adelaide for a week.
