NT Police officer to face court charged with ‘unlawfully modifying data’

A Darwin NT Police officer has been charged with unlawfully modifying data and will face court in October.
In a statement, NT Police said the 36-year-old male officer was charged with one count of unlawful modification of data pursuant to offending against section 276C Criminal Code Act NT (1983).
The officer was suspended from duty with pay.
“The matter is under investigation by the Professional Standards Command,” the statement read.
“As the matter is now before the courts, no further information will be provided.
“This information is provided in accordance with the NT Police Transparency Guidelines.”
The officer will face Darwin Local Court on October 15.
