Madison Butler, 18, and 20-year-old Dechlan Wurramarra appeared in Darwin Local Court on Wednesday charged with the alleged murder of Kingsley Vincent Leslie Alley Junior.
The pair, Butler’s mother Melissa Jane Clancy, 37, and a 17-year-old boy were all charged after Mr Alley’s body was found bloodied and beaten on a Palmerston driveway on October 8.
After a brief hearing before Chief Judge Elizabeth Morris, both Butler and Wurramarra’s cases were each adjourned to March 8 for a preliminary examination mention.
Wurramarra will return to court later this month over separate charges of allegedly possessing a weapon and breaching his bail.
Mr Alley’s sister and mother wore photos of Mr Alley pinned next to their heart, while other loved ones wore shirts proclaiming ‘Justice of Kingsley’.
Josephine Miller-Sabino said her 18-year-old brother was much more than “just another murder statistic”.
“He was very loved, he was a special boy,” Ms Miller-Sabino said.
Outside the court Ms Miller-Sabino said her family was “trying to heal” but her brother’s memory would never be forgotten.
“This is something that will be remembered forever,” she said.
“We just want justice for him.”
Her mother, Chelsea Lee Miller said she was just seeking the truth about her son’s final moments.
“I would like the truth, all the pieces of the puzzle, so we have the full picture of my son’s suffering,” Ms Miller said.
“That’s why we’re all standing together, to be here for him.
“It’s a process for him as well.
“To me he’s always with us”.
Rapper Yung Milla (Levi Nichaloff), said the memory of his cousin as a kind and mature young man would not be forgotten.
“It’s tragic and something that we’ll never get over,” Mr Nichaloff said.
