A favourite has tumbled out of the top six as another racked up the biggest score of 2025 and there were more upsets as the Sydney Rugby Union 1st Colts season reached the halfway mark.
The Warringah Rats stayed at the top of the ladder with their eighth win as fellow northern beaches club Manly tumbled out of the top six after nine rounds of competition.
Randwick then racked up an extraordinary 90 points in their round nine battle.
Gordon, who dominated the season early. fell to Easts by two in a 2024 grand final rematch.
Souths, the side that beat Easts in round one in the first upset of the season, then fell to West Harbour in their match up.
The Hunter Wildfires scored an extraordinary win over the Marlins on home turf in the upset of the round.
The results left Warringa at the top of the table as the only team with eight wins and one loss this season.
Randwick are in second place with just two losses.
Gordon, Easts and Sydney University follow with six wins and three losses each.
The Wildfires round out the top six with five wins and four losses, the same win and loss as Manly but are on 31 points to Manly’s 28.
SYDNEY RUGBY UNION 1ST COLTS RD 9 RESULT WRAP
Warringah 47 beat Norths 24 at Pittwater Rugby Park.
Nick Hill scored two tries in this win with Riley Osborn, Aron Brennan, Matthew Hanley and Ezekiel James Guttenbeil also going over.
Scrum-half Sam Blank converted three and George Schmude two.
Norths had three try scorers in Callum Mahura, Hugo Orpin and Charlie Arena.
Eastwood 17 lost to Sydney University 41 at TG Millner Field
Sydney University shared the scoring round in this match with seven different players going over.
Beau Morrison, Charles Bull, Pat O’Connor, Dane Mitchell and Henry Conick all got on the score board on Saturday.
Sam Sharman kicked three conversions.
Jack Tierney, Taite Howells and Ryan Edwards scored for Eastwood
Manly 17 lost to the Hunter Wildfires 31 at Manly Oval
Lucas Clifford scored two and Mitchell Bauser and Oscar Affleck one each in this upset for the Wildfires with Oscar Davey nailing four conversions and a penalty.
Angus Pepper, Brody McLaren and Angus Kelly scored tries for Manly.
Two Blues 21 lost to Randwick 90 at Eric Tweeddale stadium
In a remarkable match, eight different players scored for Manly while Felix Turinui kicked eight conversions.
Tom Farr- Jones was one of only two players to go over three times in round nine in an outstanding performance by Randwick.
Max Tanner contributed two in this game while Hugo Kulcsar scored a try and made two conversions
Other try scorers were Tyler Maybery, Xavier Ball, Matteo Cleverley, Riley Evans, James Jones, Lawrence Kiely and Hugo Delaney, John Vaokakala, Matavius.
James Persia and Hene Tolu went over for the Two Blues while Khye Forrester converted three.
South 28 lost to West Harbour 45 at Concord Oval
Sunny Raravula starred for West Harbour in this match with three tries.
Daniele Tailasa went over twice and Joshua Treadwell once with James Thompson nailing five conversions
Jean Paul Sia scored two for Souths with Humphrey Ingham and Domanic Mason also scoring as Jacob Prlha converted three and Ben Littlefair one
Eastern Suburbs 27 beat Gordon 25 at Chatswood Oval.
In the closest match of the round Easts outscored Gordon five tries to 3 with Charles Okane scoring two and Hunter Ryan, Louis Fenwicke and Edward Huffton also going over.
Lisiota Pae, Ben Playford and Max Roach scored for Gordon with Playford also adding two conversions and two penalties.
