ST Mary’s stalwart Nate Paredes big stats showing saw his side take out their first win in Round 3 of the NTFL season.
The star midfielder had 24 kicks and six handballs to become the first player of the 2020-21 season to reach 30 disposals from a single game.
The strong showing also helped his side to their first victory of the season with 15.12 (102) to 9.7 (51) victory over Tiwi Bombers.

And Paredes wasn’t the only high performer from the opening encounter between the Saints and Bombers.
Tiwi’s Fletcher Carroll managed 28 disposals with 18 kicks and 10 handballs in a display that also saw him take six marks, six tackles and seven clearances.

Wanderers’ Shaun Mannagh continued his stellar start to the season that already has him topping the NT News Player of the Year votes with 26 disposals (23 kicks, 3 handballs) against Nightcliff.
Mannagh also made nine marks, the most of the round, to give the Eagles the most chance of turning over the reigning premiers.
It was Tigers’ star and dual Nichols medal winner Brodie Filo who followed with 25 disposals (21 kicks, four handballs) from a game which saw his side come from behind to upset the Muk Muks.

Waratah’s Abe Ankers (13 kicks, 10 handballs) and Buffaloes’ Lachlan McKenzie (14 kicks, nine handballs) tied for fifth position with 23 disposals each.
Tah’s Brock Orval was instrumental across the ground in his side’s come from behind victory over Southern Districts with seven tackles, more than anyone else in the round.
Other interesting stats include time spent in the forward fifty particularly in the Wanderers against Nightcliff game.
Wanderers found themselves in front following the third quarter despite only entering the attacking half seven times in that period for a return of 26 points.
While in the same period the Tigers entered the attacking end 15 times for a return of just 16 points.
Though ultimately Nightcliff won with a more efficient fourth quarter seeing a return of 27 points from 14 entries into the inside 50.

The highest scoring quarter of the round went to St Mary’s second period with the side taking 44 points from 17 entries into the inside 50.
