DEFENSIVE pressure and strong shooting saw Pints maintain their unbeaten run with a 39-28 win over Hoggies in Round 8 of the Darwin Netball Premier League.
Strong defensive work from Chloe Murray and Bethany Williams consistently saw the ball return to the Pints’ offensive end. Shooters Rachelle Tinning and Ashlee Singleton made the most of the ball when it came their way, rewarding the hard-fought efforts of their defenders.
Hoggies were no pushovers, fighting for the win throughout with Tara Everett standing out on defence, though the injury loss of goal keeper Kate Nicholson was felt in the second half.
And though they fought hard in offence with shooter Olivia Hatzismalis standing out, it was the hard work of Pints’ defence that won the day.

Pints co-captains Eulaly Allen and Rachel Cahir were pleased with their side’s efforts, but felt there were some inconsistencies which they would need to clean up.
“We let ourselves down a little by second guessing ourselves and not getting in as quickly as we could have though we also continue to show week in week out why we are top of the ladder,” Allen told the NT News.
“Our shooters shot well rewarding the efforts of our defenders who won us a lot of ball through turnovers and intercepts.
“We have the bye next week where we will be looking for a bit of a recoup and a return to basics ahead of our next match.”
