But with the return of players from injury, Elmer is optimistic of a return to winning ways in coming rounds.
“It wasn’t our best game we had a few players out through injury or otherwise,” Elmer told the NT News.
“We have our players back on board now and know that we need to focus on starting strong and not let games slip away from us.
“Falcons came out with a lot of intensity and are great defensive side so we couldn’t find our way back into the contest.”
Edwina Shearer and Britanny Daly have formed a consistent partnership through centre court for the Tigers this season.
And Lily Clark has been a standout on the defensive end, working tirelessly to win the ball back for her side.
Waratahs have enjoyed a strong run of recent form, being the team to end Falcons’ unbeaten run and then beating a strong Banks side in Round 8.
Sarrita King has been a standout for them over the past few seasons, and her skills have been on show once again this season.
“They’re a great team who never let up and are a tough side to beat this year,” Elmer said.
“Though we match up pretty evenly against them so for us the focus will be on starting strong and putting on that tight one on one defence.
“Now that we have everyone back onboard we can work together and play our game the way we want to.”
Meanwhile, a Hoggies side still on the hunt for its first win of the season takes on Banks Bulldogs, while Tracy Village will face off against reigning premiers Pints.
