Star PINT half-forward Casey Morris said three-time NTFL men’s title-winning coach Rick Nolan has brought respect to Queenants
CASEY Morris is in just her third season of senior football, but has been one of PINT’s many consistent contributors. She said the competitive but supportive atmosphere under a respected coach was allowing her to play so well with the so-far undefeated side.

DESPITE its brilliant undefeated season so far in the 2020-21 Women’s NTFL Premier League competition, the PINT players knew they had unfinished business when they came back to train after the Christmas break.
And that sense of hunger was clearly evident in the team’s dominant 55-point win over the fifth-placed Nightcliff in Round 13 action last Saturday.
As has been the case for the Queenants this season there was no shortage of contributors, with seven different goal scorers.

Queenants move to 12-0 after a comprehensive win over finals rivals Nightcliff at Marrara
Casey Morris was one of those, and the half-forward has been one of coach Rick Nolan’s consistent players in 2020-21, with 14 goals and five times among her side’s best players.
Not bad for someone only in her third season of senior football.
But Morris said the supportive and competitive culture around her has helped her grow as a player and person.
“We really came together against Nightcliff after a couple of weeks off – everyone knew their roles, and went out there and did it,” she told the NT News.
“Jas Hewett was among our best, but she always has a great game.
“Katie Streader was impressive in her first game back after some time out with an injury, and Jesse Baumer and Hillary Grubb also stood out.
“But everyone played great, and this is why we’re enjoying some success at the moment.”
PINT has earned the respect of opposing Premier League teams in recent years, and last season was a memorable one, making it to the semi-final stage and losing to runners-up Waratah by eight points.
The Queenants look even stronger in 2020-21.
“Getting Rick on board as our coach (a three-time premiership winning mentor at St Mary’s in the men’s Premier League) has been awesome – he’s really lifted the standards at the club,” Morris said.
“And the few key recruits we got have also played big roles for us.
“This is only my third season playing at this level, but everyone helps out each other here.
“We’re competitive but nothing negative ever gets said.
“It’s just a really good, safe and supportive environment.”
Morris kicked five goals in a big 94-point win against Saturday’s opponents, Wanderers, back on October 24.
The sides will clash in Round 14 action at DXC Arena at Marrara.
“I’m really looking forward to playing them. They’re always a very good side,” Morris said. “They always fought hard and kept coming at us last time we played them.”
