Townsville MasterChef Australia runner-up Rhiannon Anderson is heading back to the kitchen with the goal of finally winning the hugely popular cooking competition.
“I’m back,” Ms Anderson confirmed on social media on Sunday.
She will be joined by more than 20 fellow fan favourites in a Back-to-Win season on Channel 10.
“Fan favourites are returning for a second – or even third – shot at the title of MasterChef and the glory that comes from holding that trophy above their heads,” Channel 10 said on its website.
“Chefs from Season 1 to Season 16 are once again tackling an array of challenges designed to push them out of their comfort zones, while also showing just how much they’ve grown since their debut in the MasterChef kitchen, all under the watchful eyes of our beloved judges.”
In addition to judges Andy Allen, Poh Ling-Yeow, Jean-Christophe Novelli and Sofia Levin, the show would also feature “extra special guest chefs” during the course of the program, the station said.
Ms Anderson has battled a major health scare after just missing out on the $250,000 top prize in season 15 of MasterChef in 2023.
The ovarian cancer ambassador said 2024 was the hardest year of her life after undergoing surgery to remove a melon-sized non-cancerous growth from her abdomen as well as a hysterectomy.
