Police and emergency services were called to the intersection of Philip Hwy and Ridley Rd at Elizabeth South just before 8pm Wednesday, after reports of the crash.

The Elizabeth South woman, 76, sustained life-threatening injuries, police said, and was rushed to the RAH.

Philip Hwy was last night closed between Ridley Rd and Judd Rd, while Ridley Rd was closed to traffic entering Philip Hwy, as major crash investigators made their way to the scene. It has since reopened.

The crash comes after a teen died in a horror single car rollover in the state’s southeast on Tuesday night.

About 6.45pm, police were called to Senior Rd, about 17km from Bordertown, after reports a vehicle was involved in a single crash rollover.

The driver, a 17-year-old boy from Senior, was driving a Toyota HiLux and died at the scene.

The teenager’s death is the 74th life lost on South Australian roads in 2023, compared with 46 at the same time last year.
