Van slams into tree on Sturt Highway at Nuriootpa, 37-year-old man dead at the scene
A driver has died after a van careered off the Sturt Highway and smashed into a tree at Nuriootpa.

The driver of a Mitsubishi van has died in a serious crash on the Sturt Highway at Nuriootpa, north of Adelaide.
Emergency services were called just after 6.30am on Monday with reports a vehicle had left the road and slammed into a tree about 2.5km south of Nuriootpa.
A West Hindmarsh man, 37, who was the driver and sole occupant of the van, died at the scene.
The white van came to rest up an embankment, with a crumpled bonnet and cabin beside the Sturt Highway after the impact.
Major Crash Investigators attended the scene, examining the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
Traffic was still slowly flowing on the Sturt Hwy on Monday morning, while Country Fire Service volunteers and police worked to clear the scene.
Police have advised road restrictions may be in place when Major Crash officers reach the scene, and motorists are asked to avoid the area if possible.
The man’s is the 45th life lost on the state’s roads this year.
