The Queensland government is facing mounting pressure to intervene against the relentless rise of rental prices, as stakeholders demand annual rent hikes to be capped at 10 per cent, with increases to only occur once a year to align with other states and territories.
Queenslander’s power bills are set to spike by $321 a year in the southeast while those in the regions are slugged $432, with warning of more pain to come.
