Northern Territory police say they’re searching for a man who allegedly snuck into a tent full of sleeping children and “wrapped his arms around” them – right next to their sleeping parents.

Police said the incident occurred on Tuesday June 25, at 12.30am at a camping ground on Palm Circuit, Alice Springs.

While the children’s parents were fast asleep in the next tent, police allege that the unknown male “unlawfully” entered the tent, which three children were sleeping in.

Police said once inside the tent, “the male allegedly wrapped his arms around the children as they slept.”

“When one of the victims woke up and attempted to leave the tent, he allegedly prevented them from doing so,” police said.

Police said the offender fled the scene and investigations were ongoing.

Anyone with information about acting suspiciously in the area, CCTV, dashcam footage, or who may have witnessed the incident is encouraged to contact police on 131 444, quoting NTP2400062064.
