June 28, 2pm: A missing man has been found near Adelaide River after a search spanning two days.

An NT Police spokesman on Friday afternoon said 66-year-old Noel Davey was found south of the township on Friday.

The spokesman said police believed the man had suffered a medical episode, and he was now receiving treatment.

“Police would like to thank members of the public for their assistance,” he said.

Police escalate search for missing man Noel Davey

June 27: Northern Territory police have escalated their efforts to find missing man, Noel Davey, who was last seen travelling on the Stuart Highway near Mataranka on June 22.

The 66-year-old traveller is believed to have been travelling north from Tennant Creek to Darwin in a white Renault van with NSW registration FCH47A.

There have been no sightings of Mr Davey or his vehicle since then and police have concerns for his welfare.

Members of the search and rescue section have been deployed to conduct systematic efforts in coordination with local police to find him.

A helicopter is also being used to search between the Katherine and Mataranka areas.

Mr Davey is described as a caucasian man with grey-white hair.

Police urge anyone who may have information of his whereabouts, or vision of his vehicle, to contact on 131 444 and reference NTP240062046.

In a statement on Wednesday, NT Police said Noel Davey was last seen travelling north on the Stuart Hwy near Mataranka at about 5pm Saturday.

An NT Police spokesman said Mr Davey was described as being of caucasian appearance with grey/white hair.

The spokesman said Mr Davey had been travelling in a white Renault van with NSW registration FCH47A.
