A 59-year-old man’s left hand has been severed after an alleged assault by two men on the Coffs Coast early this morning. Police are now investigating the shocking incident.

A man’s left hand has been severed after an alleged assault by two men on the Coffs Coast early this morning.
After receiving reports of a man’s hand being “cut off” in an assault, officers from Coffs Clarence Police District attended a property at Toormina Pl, Coffs Harbour at about 6.45am.
“NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the 59-year-old man at the scene before he was airlifted to John Hunter Hospital in a serious but stable condition,” a NSW Police statement read.
Upon arriving at the scene officers found two women, aged 58 and 80, also at the premises who were uninjured.
Officers were told two men, one known to the victim, had allegedly assaulted him prior to police attending.
“They left before police arrived,” the NSW Police statement continued.
A crime scene has been established and an investigation into the incident is underway.
