The NT has recorded two new cases of COVID-19 with two US Marines staying in the Territory contracting the virus.

The two men, aged 19 and 20, tested positive in the past 24 hours, Secure NT confirmed in a statement on Saturday morning.

The Marines arrived as part of the Marine Rotational Force – Darwin on May 9.

“Both males are asymptomatic and remain under the care of the AUSMAT team at the NT Centre for National Resilience,” the statement read.

The total number of cases diagnosed in the Northern Territory is 170.

All cases have been related to international or interstate travel, with no cases of community transmission.
