POLICE are calling for witnesses after two women were allegedly indecently assaulted in separate incidents at Casuarina on Tuesday.

Both at about 9pm, in the first incident a 22-year-old woman reported that as she was entering a residential complex, she was approached from behind by a male youth who allegedly assaulted her before running away.

In the second incident, a 20-year-old woman was in the carpark of the same complex when she and a friend were followed to the entrance of the building by a group of three youths, one of whom allegedly assaulted her as his friends stood by.

All three then left the area.

Police describe the first offender as a tall, skinny Aboriginal male with a bleached mohawk hairstyle and an earring in the right earlobe.

He was wearing blue shorts, a black T-shirt with ‘South Side Serpents’ logo on the back, a black baseball cap, white ankle socks and dark sneakers.

The second offender is described as a short, slim Aboriginal male with short dark hair.

He was wearing a red T-shirt with black sleeves, pink/light red shorts, red sneakers and pink socks.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Grieve said anyone with information was urged to come forward.

“This kind of behaviour is unacceptable and women should feel safe as they come and go from their homes,” he said.

“We are reviewing CCTV in the area and making enquiries.

“We believe the same group of youths is responsible for both assaults. These incidents happened in a busy area and we are asking anyone who may have seen these boys in the Dripstone Road area to contact us on 131 444 and quote reference 9596114.”
