Territory reports zero new Covid-19 cases on first day of post-lockdown freedom
Optimism is growing that the Territory has got the Covid-19 crisis under control, with the NT reporting no new local infections in the 24 hours up to 1pm Saturday.

THERE have been no new locally transmitted cases of Covid-19 in the Northern Territory.
On day one of life after lockdown, Chief Minister Michael Gunner told Facebook followers there were no cases detected from more than 2500 tests over the past 24 hours.
Saturday was the second day in a row of no new cases in the Territory.

Mr Gunner also said NT Police had been impressed by behaviour across the NT on Friday night, after relieved Territorians took to bars, pubs and clubs.
Restrictions such as mask wearing when you can’t socially distance remain in place until at least July 9.
Lockdown restrictions were lifted at 1pm Friday.
Mr Gunner said 103 casual contacts from the Stuart Park Corner Store were isolating, with 71 negative results so far and the rest outstanding.
He said there were 195 close contacts so far identified at the Buff Club, of which 167 had returned a negative result while 28 were still pending.
Close contacts from the Stuart Park venue will need to isolate for a full fortnight.
