REVEALED: Malarndirri McCarthy to marry Richard Bryant on Saturday
Labor Senator Malarndirri McCarthy will tie the knot in Darwin in coming days, with the news being revealed on national TV.

TERRITORY Senator Malarndirri McCarthy will tie the knot on Saturday to partner Richard Bryant, with at least one federal minister flying into Darwin for the event.
Her Labor colleague Luke Gosling was one of the first to break the news, describing the wedding as a “big occasion” while appearing with Mix 104.9’s Katie Woolf on Thursday.
“Senator Don Farrell is going to be in town for Territory Day, but he’s going to be here as the Minister for Tourism now in the federal government,” Ms Woolf remarked during an interview with Mr Gosling.
“What’s he coming to the Territory for?”
“He’s actually coming up here for Senator Malarndirri McCarthy’s wedding,” Mr Gosling replied to a surprised Ms Woolf.
“It’ll be a good weekend.”
Earlier on Thursday, Today Show host Karl Stefanovic wished Senator McCarthy good luck at the end of a segment.
“Malarndirri, before we go, you’re getting married this weekend,” Mr Stefanovic said.
“We just wanted to wish you, on behalf of everyone here at the Today Show, all the very best.
“We love you, congratulations, it’s going to be a fantastic day for you.”
Senator McCarthy announced her engagement to Darwin teacher Richard Bryant in January 2021.
After Labor’s win at last month’s federal election, the re-elected Senator was appointed Assistant Minister for Indigenous Australians and Indigenous Health.
She first ran for federal parliament in 2016, having previously worked as a minister in the Henderson Territory government and then as a journalist for NITV.
