Police charge two Top End men in relation to possessing and supplying cocaine and MDMA

Two Top End men have been charged in relation to possessing and supplying cocaine and MDMA.

NT Police Drugs and Organised Crime Section (DOCS) officers have charged two men in relation to possessing and supplying cocaine and MDMA.

On July 22 DOCS members stopped a vehicle in Pinelands and allegedly found cocaine, cash and a mobile phone.

Officers then executed a search warrant at a Palmerston home and found trafficable amounts of cocaine and MDMA, as well as more cash.

A 21-year-old man was arrested and charged with:

– Supplying a schedule 1 dangerous drug – commercial quantity;

– Possessing a trafficable quantity of a schedule 1 dangerous drug (cocaine),

– Possessing a trafficable quantity of a schedule 1 dangerous drug (MDMA);

– Possessing tainted property,

– Possessing a less than trafficable quantity of a schedule 1 dangerous drug in a public place.

He was bailed to appear in Darwin Local Court on July 29.

On July 26 following a police operation, officers arrested a 47-year-old man at his home in The Gardens for alleged possession of a commercial quantity of cocaine.

He was charged with possessing schedule 1 dangerous drug – commercial quantity.

He was bailed to appear in Darwin Local Court on August 4.

Detective A/Senior Sergeant Matt Akers said the finds were disappointing.

“We will continue to target people who peddle in these substances that create misery and pain for families in the Northern Territory,” he said.
