IN AUGUST the number of short-term visitors coming into the Territory from overseas dropped a massive 99.6 per cent, compared to the same time last year.
New Australian Bureau of Statistics data for August showed just 30 people arrived into the Territory for short-term visits, a decrease of 99.6 per cent compared to 8820 visitors in August 2019.

In total there were 3030 short-term trips from overseas into Australia, with visitors mainly from the United States (450 trips), New Zealand (370 trips) and the United Kingdom (310 trips).
There were just over 10 long-term visitor arrivals.

There were 80 short-term resident returns to the Territory, dropping from 7890 or 99 per cent in August 2019.
There were no international student arrivals. In August 2019 there were 160 international student arrivals.
