A MAN has been fined for illegally starting a fire

A HUMPTY Doo man has been fined for illegally starting a fire.

NT Fire and Rescue Service (NTFRS) went to the man’s residence and saw him conduct an illegal burn pile today.

The fire was extinguished and the man was issued a $632 fine plus $40 victims levy for lighting a fire on a fire ban day.

It is illegal for fires to be lit on a total fire ban day. People are urged to contact police on 131 444 if they see any suspicious fire activity.
