FORMER Socceroos star turned human rights advocate Craig Foster is in Darwin to protest for the release of the ‘Darwin 9’.
Mr Foster met with some of the refugees who have been detained at a facility near the Darwin International Airport for more than a year yesterday afternoon. He described the situation the families faced as “harrowing”.
“I find myself apologising to them and saying I’m sorry because we all could have done more, could have spoken up sooner,” he said.
