The Territory’s best and brightest rising stars have been recognised as finalists in the 2024 NT Training Awards.
This year’s awards will see 34 nominees vying for top honours across 12 categories, including student, apprentice and trainee of the year.
The finalists come from a diverse field of industries including engineering, construction, electrical, airconditioning and refrigeration, health, business, aquaculture, maritime, vet nursing, early childhood education and beauty services.
The winners will be singled out from more than 3770 Territorians undertaking an apprenticeship or traineeship and over 40 registered training organisations.
The winners in the seven individual and five business categories will be announced at a gala presentation on August 31, with all eligible winners going on to represent the NT at the Australian Training Awards in Canberra in December.
Skills, Training and International Education Minister Joel Bowden said all the nominees “should be proud of their achievements and contributions to training and education in the Territory”.
“Developing a strong local workforce means local businesses can take advantage of new opportunities and support the economic development of the Northern Territory,” he said.
The 2024 NT Training Awards Individual finalists include:
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Student of the Year: Taylah McMillan, Savanah Pagel and Vanessa Williams
Austin Asche Apprentice of the Year: Asinate Bradbury, Julian Coburn and Elisha Wright
School-based Apprentice or Trainee of the Year: Zane Edwards, Daisy Tulari and Cassidy White
Trainee of the Year: Storm Cloud, Breanah Corpus and Jessica Porter
VET in Schools Student of the Year: Tahya Anderson, Dakota Krugger and Jack Ludlow
VET Teacher/Trainer of the Year: Patrick McKenzie, John McNeur and Maureen Simon
Vocational Student of the Year: Bree James, Waratya Nasomkhwan and Courtney Stewart
