Don’t miss your opportunity to be part of the 2024 NT Training Awards. There are less than two weeks left to nominate yourself, an individual or business that is excelling in the vocational education and training (VET) sector.

Winners and runners-up win cash prizes and eligible winners have the opportunity to represent the Territory at the Australian Training Awards – the peak national awards that highlight best practice in VET.

These prestigious awards celebrate the achievements of Territorians excelling in the VET sector and recognise the outstanding contribution made by our local businesses, training organisations, apprentices, trainees, trainers and students.

Jack Higgins was named Austin Asche Apprentice of the Year at the 2023 NT Training Awards. At the time of being nominated he had completed his Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician, with Charles Darwin University and the GTNT Group.

Jack is passionate about his trade and the opportunities that the VET sector has opened up for him.

“Electrical work is a challenging yet rewarding field that offers a range of opportunities for growth and development,” he said.

“I wanted to learn a trade that is both practical and technical, and after completing the Prelude to the Future program where I was able to get a taste into both the electrical and mechanical trades, the electrical industry seemed like the perfect fit for me and where I wanted to pursue a career.”

The awards recognise the best and brightest in the VET sector across seven individual and five business categories.
