THERE will be 3100 new appointments for Covid-19 vaccines coming online for the Greater Darwin area on Wednesday.
It comes as the vaccine rollout is reaching a milestone as it nears almost 50 per cent of eligible Territorians receiving their first Covid-19 jab.
To date 46.6 per cent of the eligible population, or 88,841 doses have been used while 50,000 second doses have been administered with 26.64 per cent now fully vaccinated.
This is compared to 16.7 per cent fully vaccinated nationally.
Health Minister Natasha Fyles said the rollout would accelerate with more doses becoming available each week.
“We are working closely with the Commonwealth Government which is delivering 10,000 additional doses to the Northern Territory per week,” she said.
“We were the first to collapse the tranches and open the vaccine up to the entire eligible population and we were the first to make the vaccine available to people over the age of 16.”
