A MAN has been taken to Palmerston Regional Hospital after crash landing a helicopter near Wangi Falls this morning.
The man is understood to have been the only occupant of the helicopter when it crashed just before 10am.
A police spokeswoman said the man suffered minor injuries in the crash, but was taken to hospital as a precaution by St John Ambulance paramedics.
The fire incident map indicates reports were made to authorities at 9.51am.

The spokeswoman said initial reports indicate the chopper landed on the undercarriage.
Police from Batchelor are at the scene.
It is not clear where the helicopter landed, however no roads have been closed.

It is also not clear if the man was flying the chopper for personal use or for work purposes.
