Chris Hemsworth: Thor star arrives in the Northern Territory

Marvel actor Chris Hemsworth stopped in Katherine, Beswick and Barungao on the way to his stomping ground of Bulman.

EqualiTEA participant Michael dressed in his best superhero outfit to meet Mr Hemsworth near Katherine.

Bearing a gift designed by another of the organisation’s participants, the excited fan met his hero as soon as the chopper touched down.

In Barunga, two crime fighters also caught a glimpse of the Aussie icon.

An NT Police spokesperson said the meeting brought together two kinds of “guardians and protectors”.

“The Asgardian Avenger was out and about in Barunga today and was kind enough to take a photo,” the spokesperson said.

“The Mighty Thor and our NT police officers proved that strength comes in many forms.

“Be it the power of a thunder god or the resilience of those who uphold the law, one thing remains certain: when duty calls, heroes answer, no matter which realm they hail from.”

Thor touches down: Chris Hemsworth spotted in Top End

Thor fans rejoice, Chris Hemsworth has landed in the Top End.

On Thursday, Hemsworth arrived in Beswick, south-east of Katherine, where he was greeted by happy locals who were eager to snag a selfie with the Marvel megastar.

Wugularr School uploaded a series of pictures of Hemsworth as he was swarmed.

“What an exciting morning we have had in Beswick,” the Facebook post read.

Hemsworth is on his way to his old hometown, Bulman, to film season two of the documentary Limitless.

According to Wugularr School, Hemsworth arrived in VIP fashion.

“The whole community saw him land on the oval in a helicopter and then he spent the next 30 minutes saying hello and getting photos – so exciting to see a movie star in our little community,” the post continued.

The Mango Inquirer was quick to poke fun at content creator Spanian, who previously attracted mass local attention during his multiple visits to the NT for his ‘In the Hood’ YouTube series.

“Spanian, eat your heart out,” Mango said.

“Chris Hemsworth is causing a frenzy in Beswick Community this morning.”

Hemsworth spent some of his childhood in the Territory where he and brothers formed core memories.

Luke Hemsworth, Chris’s brother, spoke highly of his former hometown Bulman.

“I grew up a lot in the Northern Territory – in the heart of iron land, in the middle of nowhere, in a tiny place called Bulman,” Luke said.

“My parents started off catching buffalo and fixing fences, and then they ended up running the little store in Bulman.”
