A TEENAGER has been busted drink driving after crashing into a pole while attempting to do a burnout in Alice Springs.

NT Police Southern Watch Commander Adrian Kidney said police responded to a report of a vehicle doing circle work on the council lawns.
“CCTV footage captured the vehicle driving onto Gregory Tce where it collided into a pole outside Uncles Tavern,” he said.
“A 19 year old male decamped the scene on foot.”
Snr Sgt Kidney said Police then managed to track the man down before arresting him.
“CCTV were able to track the driver and direct members to him on the corner of Gregory/Leichhardt Tce,” he said.
“He was arrested and conveyed to the watch house where he returned a reading of 0.090 per cent.”

He was later charged with drive medium range and drive without due care causing an accident.
