TERRITORY Alliance has pledged to deliver a big tourism package for Alice Springs to help the industry bounce back from COVID-19.
The Alice Shines package has been designed as a tourism-led, economic development policy for Alice Springs, that includes proposed funding for projects aimed at improving tourism prospects.

Under the plan, $750,000 will be spent preserving the National Road Transport Hall of Fame to ensure the major attraction stays open.
An additional $5m will be allocated to construct a Kwatja water parkland and another $500,000 for bilingual signage, providing a connection with local culture and language to key locations and areas, and in information for visitors and tourists.

Territory Alliance candidate for Braitling Dale McIver said she was hoping the plan would get the Alice Springs and wider Northern Territory tourism industry back on its feet.
“A Territory Alliance government will commit $300m to NT tourism operators, including $150m quarantined for regional operators, outside of Darwin,” Ms McIver said.
