TENNANT Creek residents will have access to more groceries after the town’s IGA supermarket resumed bush orders and expanded operations following a fire at the original store in July.
The IGA is in a temporary location at the back of the BP service station and roadhouse where it relocated after the fire and has six aisles stocked and three cash registers.

The store’s trading hours have been extended to operate from 8am to 6pm each day.
The IGA is owned and managed by IRAM, (Indigenous Retail Asset Management) whose chief executive John Kop, said they “have had to build the entire business from the ground up”.
The temporary store now covers almost the full spread of 220 commodities – such as cereal, pasta, canned fish, frozen foods, dairy products previously offered – or about 2500 items.
Mr Kop said the store recently ran a survey for customers where the higher prices were criticised.
