Who needs Maccas with this genius McChicken dupe?!

The best bit is you can make the delicious burger with ingredients from ALDI.

People have been doing fakeaway and Maccas dupes forever, but this McChicken burger has got to be the superior dupe, if you scored based on flavour and how easy it is to put together.

I know, I was sceptical of Maccas dupes until I rocked up to the drive-thru sometime last year and realised that to feed my family of five was going to cost close to $100.

People, McDonald’s is not cheap anymore, so it’s worth at least trying to make it at home.

Enter Bec Hardgrave, the genius TikTokker who does grocery store dupes of our favourite fast food and restaurant foods.

They’re tasty, fresh and usually have a fraction of the calories of the originals.

Her latest video, called “low-cal McDonald’s chicken burgers” recreates the popular burger using just a handful of ingredients from ALDI and they look delicious.

“I made McChicken burgers for 380 calories using only affordable ingredients I bought at ALDI,” she said in the voiceover as she showed how to put together the ingredients.

These are super quick and easy to make.”

Woman’s low-calorie McChicken burger dupe from ALDI

Bec popped in to her local ALDI and picked up four ingredients: frozen chicken breast schnitzel, a packet of sesame seed brioche burger buns, a bottle of mayonnaise and a head of iceberg lettuce.

It’s such a simple recipe, most people would be able to guess how to make it.

Bec cooked her schnitzel in the air fryer and while she was waiting, she shredded the lettuce into strips, sliced the buns in half and spread on some mayonnaise.

Cooked chicken schnitzel was placed on top of the lettuce and voila, she had a pretty convincing Maccas dupe, and a delicious burger.

The burger is perfect for toppings: processed cheese melted on the chicken, a bit of sriracha or chilli sauce, and maybe a pickle.

TikTok Macca’s dupe goes viral

Followers loved the recipe. Bec’s video has been liked over 11,000 times.

“I’ve tried them and yuuuuumm!1 Thank you for sharing,” said one person.

“These look great!” said another.

‘OMG do Big Mac next,” a third person requested.

But not everyone thought the ALDI schnitzel was tasty.

“Nooo don’t buy the chicken, that’s awful for you,” one person said. “Just make it from scratch, it will save a bunch of calories too.”
