Arrivals into Northern Territory since borders eased on July 17 approaches 150,000

ARRIVALS into the Northern Territory have passed yet another milestone with more than 145,000 people having crossed into the NT since border restrictions were eased on July 17

MORE than 145,000 people have crossed into the Territory since border restrictions were eased on July 17.

New statistics released by the NT Government on Sunday showed 78,068 people have arrived by air, another 64,084 people by road, and 2,855 people by sea or rail.

It’s expected that total figure will surpass 150,000 people this week, with travel restrictions from regional Victoria eased from Monday.

It comes as there are currently five active cases of COVID-19 in the NT.

All cases are active overseas quarantine cases in the Howard Springs facility.

The confirmed positive cases, which were reported to have flown into Australia via a repatriation flight from Delhi, take the total number of cases diagnosed in the NT since the start of the pandemic to 39.

There were 874 people undertaking quarantine on Sunday.
