A dad has asked the internet what he should do when his wife asked him to perform a domestic task while she was out.
He posted photos of three rooms, and invited suggestions on what he should tackle.
Put it this way - the group was equally unsure.

"My wife asked me to pick up the house while she was out"
The full title of the post read:
"My wife asked me to pick up the house while she was out. The condition of house before she left."
Followed by a simple collage of three images: an immaculate kitchen, living area and bedroom.
Meaning, there was literally nothing for him to tidy; hence his cheeky post title.

"Damn, that place is a pigsty. He has his work cut out"
The tongue-in-cheek post naturally got responses in the same tone.
One helpfully suggested, "There are a few things in the pictures that could be tidied. An empty paper towel roll on the kitchen island, a few pieces of fruit that are just outside the fruit basket, a knife left on the cutting board, a dog on the couch, and a stapler with some construction paper on the dining room table."
There was also these jokes: "You missed the middle back cushion on the sofa needs to be patted back and fluffed," and "No one talking about the stapler and papers on the table?? Looks like a tornado hit it!!"
Finally, there was this realistic advice, "Leave the house. By staying there you can only make it worse."

"Not weaponised incompetence"
Many readers of the post had been expecting the husband and dad to be not experienced at domesticity - hence his confusion - but that wasn't the case at all.
His home was already immaculate.
In fact, some even asked for clarification about which partner had cleaned the house before the wife left - and suggested she could have been joking with her husband.
This assumption was made because sadly, tales of the mental and physical load put on the mum/wife in homes is a common theme online.
One woman even wrote about her 'Doesband' who is an equal partner to everything in their home, life, and parenting. It was such an extraordinary concept, her story went viral.
If only all of us could have a doesband! And who knows, the dad/husband in the above story may very well be one.
