"Pathetic, what a joke," said one. Do you see the issue?

The collection features a variety of different items, including Christmas sweaters, vests, and cardigans with various patterns, including snowmen, mistletoe, and reindeer.

However, there's one glaring issue: Christmas falls in summer down under, so social media users were quick to call out the brand for selling winter attire.

Confused Kmart fans flooded the comment section on a TikTok video showing off the range.

"Have these makers never experienced a summer in Australia?"

"Did Kmart miss the memo that it’s SUMMER at Christmas," said one.

"I still have no idea why they sell winter Christmas stuff in Australia," wrote another.

"I love the jumpers but never get why they do it when we have summer in December," a different user replied.

"Have these makers never experienced a summer in Australia? No need for jumpers," someone else pointed out.

And the comments kept coming...

"Christmas is one of the hottest times of the year, no one is wearing a Christmas jumper," another said.

"In summer we have winter Christmas clothes. Pathetic, what a joke," another slammed.

However, not everyone was so scathing. Some pointed out that the wooly attire might still come in handy across the festive season.

"It poured with rain and we had hail storms in Victoria last year. It was cold," said one.

"Wasn’t [hot] last year in Adelaide, was actually quite cold," replied another.

"Watched the carols in the pouring rain last year, it was definitely jumper weather," yet another commenter wrote,  while a different woman said, "It’s always cold at work, I have to get me one this year."

More of Kmart's Christmas collection

It comes after users spotted the rest of Kmart's Christmas collection online this week.

One TikToker, Mark Polchleb, took to his account to share some of his favourite picks from the range he describes as "cutesy" and "dopamine" decor.

First on his list, Kmart's $10 pudding door mat, which he thinks is a fun and festive way to add a touch of Christmas magic to your entryway.

Sticking with the pudding theme, Kmart has also launched a $14 spherical pudding cushion, a two-pack of pudding serving dishes for $10, a $5 pudding mug and a $5 pudding soap dispenser.

Mark declares that "2024 is the year of Christmas pud", and Kmart has clearly got the memo.
