The 10-member store syndicate from Humpty Doo held the only division one winning entry in last night’s Oz Lotto draw.
Humpty Doo punter Brett Peebles said he was disappointed he hadn’t bought the winning ticket in this drawer, but was happy that luck had made it to the rural area.
“It happened to Coolalinga, they had a win recently,” he said.
“It’s good to see the local places have a win
“We’re sort of in a bit of a lucky area, in Humpty Doo.”
The Humpty Doo resident Phil Morrissy said he would be heading to the Humpty Doo newsagency to get his tickets from now on.
“Good luck to the people who won it,” he said.
“I’ll be going there, I’ve been buying mine at Howard Springs and won nothing for a longtime.”
Despite a tinge of jealousy, Territorians online rallied around the winners.
“I would like to be at that party, awesome news,” wrote Warwick Weaver.
“Got a couple of friends there. I hope it was one of them,” wrote Jay-Dee Gumm.
“Great news that 10 local families are winners,” wrote Thalia Kariotis Kouros.
“Finally! Gives me some hope,” said one Facebook commenter.

One commenter tried to get the winners to unveil their identities, saying “Who won? I’m currently looking for new friends.”
