DARWIN fishos have captured spectacular footage of a rare waterspout spotted spinning in Bynoe Harbour, southwest of Darwin.
The waterspout, which is described by the Bureau of Meteorology as a slender tornado that forms over the water, was spotted by Darwin fisho Mark Hay and his companions while they were “dodging a storm” on Tuesday.
“It got a lot bigger as we [came] around the top end of an island in Bynoe Harbour,” he told Storyful.
“So we stopped to take pictures and it just kept growing bigger then moments later it disappeared.”
