DALY River fisho Kaitlyn Ahfat has become the first woman to reel in a winning fish this season of the Million Dollar fish, reeling in her prized barra at her favourite fishing spot.

“I caught it 11pm on Thursday at Daly River Crossing, I fish there every week,” she said. “I used a hand line, it was pretty hard.
“I didn’t see the tag at first, my partner did and when he did he was jumping up and down screaming ‘we’re rich, we’re rich’.”
It is the fifth winning fish reeled in this season.
Ms Ahfat said the $10,000 prize will come in handy
“I don’t think I’ve ever had that sort of money,” she said.

“Our house is getting renovated so it will definitely come in handy for that.
