DARWIN families will be dashing through the Botanic Gardens tonight, looking to get the best seats in the house for the annual Christmas carols celebration.
Mother of five Ruthie Ridley said her two eldest, Ezekiel and Grace, were the biggest fans in her family, and had already been practising their carols for weeks.

“O Holy Night is one of our absolute favourites and Grace has been singing Away in a Manger for weeks leading up to Christmas,” she said.
“Ezekiel and Grace have been belting out all the Christmas carols they’ve been learning at school and sing them all year round, so this is the high point of the year.
“It’s a great tradition for families to do it all together and remember the real meaning of Christmas.”

The City of Darwin Carols by Candlelight at the George Brown Botanic Gardens begins at 6.30pm on Sunday. Gates open at 4.30pm.
