MyDarwin to return for Christmas trading period to share joy with retailers and shoppers

MYDARWIN will return as an early Christmas present for Darwin businesses owners and shoppers.

But it will come at a cost, with council’s free Christmas carparking scheme set to be parked to help pay for the $200,000 pool.

Alderman Jimmy Bouhoris said the myDarwin voucher scheme was a worthy trade-off, it would also benefit all businesses across Darwin, as opposed to just those in the CBD.

“It’s better use of our parking revenue to support our businesses during the pandemic,” he said.

“Our businesses represent our community who need us to help and respond.”

Council estimates it will generate $1.2 million into the economy.
