TERRITORIANS can breathe a sigh of relief as showers and storms are set to break sweltering conditions accross the Top End and Central Australia this week.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected accross the Top End for the rest of the week, with higher rain totals expected in the Darwin rural area.
Central Australia has also experienced its first cool change of the season over the weekend, with partly cloudy temperatures and below average temperatures expected for the rest of the week.
Alice Springs had a high temperature of only 16C on Sunday, about half the March average of 32.8C.
It also recorded 39mm of rain over 48 hours to 9am Monday.

Further north, 53mm was recorded at Nightcliff Pool over the 72 hours to 9am Mondaya nd 106mm was recorded in the Victoria River district over the same time period.
